Buttercup's Story
Named after “The Princess Bride,” Buttercup’s soft coloring and gentle soul make it seem like she stepped straight out of Florin and into your heart.

This beautiful girl is an absolute lover. If you stop petting her, she’ll politely nudge her head right back under your hand, making her wishes known in the most endearing way. Around people and other dogs, Buttercup is happy to roll onto her back as if to say, “As you wish.” She’s eager to please, adores all forms of affection, and bonds quickly with her humans, including kids.

Buttercup does well in her crate (after a brief protest—no princess likes being confined at first) and enjoys napping on the couch, in her bed, or in her “royal chambers.” She’s still polishing some house-training skills and will benefit from a predictable routine. On walks, she’s enthusiastic and curious—especially when birds, squirrels, or rabbits appear—so continued leash training will help her master her courtly manners.

Like any good adventure story, Buttercup comes with a little mischief: she’s a champion chewer and believes many household items are secretly chew toys. Durable toys, Kongs, and supervision will be key to her happily-ever-after. With guidance, patience, and love, this sweet princess is ready to leave the castle behind and find her forever family. “This is true love… you think this happens every day?”

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs.
