Meet Buster
Our sweet, blossoming Buster is a forget-me-not type of gentleman who blissfully enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He prances in anticipation of his daily walk, which is a slow-going affair with lots of breaks to sniff and roll. He has an adorable "wiggle-waddle" when he sees new people to meet and loves to visit with all the neighbors. Sunbathing is another favorite activity, with generalized napping anywhere cozy is a close second.
His amazing foster mom says he "purrs" in appreciation during cuddle time and that he is "just a delightful boy".
Buster is about 14 and went into rescue when his elderly owner had to go into assisted living. He was his family's whole world and was loved in many ways- snacks may have been the quickest way to this boy's heart, as he was on the chubby side when he came to DDB. However, physical therapy, water therapy, arthritis medication, and a weight loss plan have helped tremendously, and he is a happy, healthy senior!
Buster does well in a crate, is housebroken, and loves to be loyal to his family.
Buster has the potential to do well with more laid-back dogs if given the proper time to adjust and be introduced slowly over several days. As a dog who spent his entire life just himself, meeting new FURends is a bit scary for Buster, and he needs the right environment to thrive and accept them. He has lived with other dogs in foster and did fine when these steps were taken.
When it comes to feline FURends, Buster would do fine in a home with cats that show little to no interest in the house dogs. He is not a fan of cats who want to play with him, however he has lived with cats in foster and all parties were just peachy to ignore one another. Due to Buster's arthritis, he does not move fast, nor does he have any desire to chase after something.
This senior boy would prefer a home with little to no stairs, and either carpet or the ability for someone to lay him a path of carpet or something grippy for him to mosey around the house!
