Buster's Story

UPDATED 2/19/2026 Hi! My name is Buster! I'm a 9.5 year old red & white male beagle. I'm such a super sweet guy! I need a new home because my person died. I lived with Onyx & Snoopy. We're all looking for a home, but we don't need to be together. It was a really, really tough past few months! Our person had to go to the hospital/rehab about 3 months ago, & so family would come & check on us about 3 times a day. Then our person passed away. So it's was really really hard. I'm in a foster home now & I'm looking for my forever home! I'm a very sweet boy! I'm very loving & affectionate! I'm also attentive to my person. Normally I'm very outgoing! Our person used to have parties & lots of people would come & I was great! I loved all the attention when people would come! I used to sleep in bed with my person. I like to play with toys! I love to carry around my stuffed toys! Check out the photo of me carrying my stuffed duck! You can't even see my face! LOL When I lived with Snoopy, he would take my toy & I didn't like that, so we'd get into a fight sometimes. I'm in a foster home with an easygoing older female dog & we get along fine. Sometimes I try to get her to play with me! I do take seizures & I'm on meds for them. Sometimes I will have a breakthrough seizure, but it's very rare & it's very mild. I'm housetrained. When I need to go outside, I will stare at you with my paw in the air. I'm doing pretty good with housetraining in my foster home. I've never been crated. I know how to use a doggie door! I'm up-to-date on vaccines & neutered. So I'm ready to find my forever home! Are you it?? Please think about giving me a forever home! I just really need somebody to love me! Kennel License #4068

Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
