Bunny (MI)'s Story
Bunny – 2 years old, located in Michigan
Rescue ID#: 250932-P-B-GA
Intake Date: 7/25/2025
Available Date: 12/05/2025

Bunny found herself in a Georgia shelter underweight, anxious, and afraid of the world. A rescue pulled her and kept her safe until she could come to a PRO foster home. Bunny was very afraid and shut down when she arrived in foster care. She has made incredible progress and now that she is comfortable she is starting to gain confidence and show what a sweet and funny little pointer girl she is. Oh, did I mention that she is a gorgeous orange girlie.

Bunny will do best in a home with another friendly confident dog (or 5) that can show her that the world is safe even when scary things happen. She loves her foster brother and sister and looks to them for guidance, play time, and a pal to sleep with.

Bunny is gaining more confidence everyday. However, change is hard for her. A quiet house with a pretty predictable routine will be Bunny’s dream home. It takes her a little time to warm up to new people, but once she realizes they are safe, she is so happy to see them and to be petted. Her new family will need to understand her fear and be willing to slowly work her through it. She is also enjoying her time outside now. She started out hiding under a table and making herself as small and flat as possible outside. Now she is playing and “hunting” outside. Unexpected noises do make her run away, cower, search for a safe place, or want back in the safe and quiet house. So, Bunny will need a physical fence to keep her safe.

Bunny is medium energy and has an off button. I expect that as she has more confidence she will be more energetic, but she really loves to snuggle up in a comfy bed or on the sofa with her toys or foster sister. She is quite silly when she is excited to see her favorite people. Her whole body wags. It is truly lovely to see from the dog that arrived here. Bunny loves her food and maybe from living on the streets, she thinks french fries are the bees knees. That is one thing she will steal from anywhere she can find them. She is completely house trained, loves her crate, is trustworthy alone in the house (unless you leave out french fries), enjoys snuggle time and belly rubs, thinks treats are the best thing ever, and is overall a super sweet girl. She can be protective of her food and toys sometimes, but living on the streets is hard. Here, the other dogs respect her space, but Bunny also understands the food comes everyday here and there is plenty and that the toys are also plentiful., so she doesn’t need to guard them. This is almost non-existent now. She needs work on leash manners and recall, but these are things that she is learning now that she trusts more and has some confidence.
