Bunny's Story

Looking for a dog with the spirit of a rabbit, the fluff of a poodle, and a heart that blossoms with patience and love? Meet Bunny, a 3 year old, 10 pound Miniature Poodle who's as unique as his name.

Bunny is a sensitive soul who's still learning to trust the world. He's cautious around new people and places, and prefers to come around on his own terms. He's currently in foster care and doing well, but he needs a specific kind of home to truly thrive: calm, low-key, and not crowded with people. A home with just a couple of other pups and a patient person willing to go at his pace would be ideal.

He loves other dogs, and watching him play is pure joy. Because Bunny's confidence comes from his foster's resident pets, we are requiring that he go to a home with another canine companion. Speaking of requirements, like most mill dogs, Bunny is a flight risk. For this reason, we are requiring that he go to a home with a securely fenced yard (he will check the fence line for an escape route and may try to part past you at the door). He will need a home committed to keeping him secure.

Adoption fee is $375.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. To learn more about our adoption process and to apply to adopt, visit www.stopthesuffering.org/adopt. All of our dogs are fostered in the Columbus area and are available for adoption to Ohio residents. If you see a dog posted on social media who is not listed on the adoption application, select unknown and fill in the dog's name later in the application.

All dogs are in homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is complete you are able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application. For detailed information about our adoption process including fees please visit our website at http://www.stopthesuffering.org. 1. Complete the online application at www.stopthesuffering.org. 2. We complete vet and reference verification. 3. Once approved, we schedule a home visit and meet and greet. WHAT WE REQUIRE: To ensure the safety and health of your new family member, we require that pets currently in the home be altered, up-to-date on vaccinations, on appropriate heartworm and flea prevention, and that all pets be kept indoors. We will require physical fences for specific dogs that we feel will be necessary to ensure their safety.
