Buffy's Story

Buffy is a sweet schnauzer who is slowly coming out of her shell and coming into her own as a pet. She is a 4 year old breeder surrender weighing just over 20 lbs who is still adjusting to life as a pet indoors.

Buffy has had success with house training on a regular schedule but does still have some accidents when she is scared or anxious. She is okay being on a leash but is not used to walking regularly on one, at times freezing if she's unsure. A fenced in yard is recommended since she does still occasionally get spooked.

She gets along with other dogs and has started playing, chasing, and snuggling the dogs in her foster home. She has not been around children or cats yet but can be tested if needed.

She gets excited tippy taps for breakfast and dinner, but is much more discerning for treats and takes her time with them. She does not have high activity needs (her bouts of the zoomies aren't super frequent), but her naps during the day are a non-negotiable. Her toys of choice are bones as chewing is her preferred enrichment.

She has been fully vetted for a year, including a recent dental. She will require regular brushing a few times a week for her beautiful coat and regular grooming every 4-6 weeks once her beard and fur is back in full force.

Buffy is still working through learning how to be a dog and trusting humans. A patient, loving home willing to work at her speed would be the perfect fit. She will need more time to decompress and warm up to you, but that makes the first snuggles she initiates that much more special.
For this girl we will require a fenced yard and another dog in the home for her.
