Buffy Spaniel Mix Sun Valley, CA

Buffy is a very special little girl who came to us at just 6 weeks old. When she came to us she was unable to use her back legs at all. We took her to the vet and found out that she was born without knees in both back legs. With lots of physical therapy and determination Buffy is now not just walking but she is running. This is not a medical condition that can be corrected nor do we know how it will affect her future. This is not something common or something our vet has seen. We have had her X-rays reviewed by multiple radiologists and multiple vets and they are all surprised by what they see. Buffy’s legs have now fused together and don’t bend at all. This does not affect her ability to get around. She does however need her back feet and legs shaved regularly to help her from slipping on floors. At some point in Buffy’s life she may need a wheelchair but she is still growing and doesn’t need it at this time. Buffy is tiny but mighty; this little girl is determined to do everything just like everyone else. She loves to run around, play with toys bigger than she is, and play with the other dogs, however she does tire out quicker than most puppies her age. Buffy is definitely not going to be a dog that can go on walks, she can not be in a house with stairs, and no small children. She is working on her potty training, is fully vaccinated microchipped, and spayed.
