Buddy's Story

Meet Buddy, a handsome 2-year-old German Shepherd weighing 54 pounds, who is proof that there’s so much more to a dog than his first impression. Buddy is intelligent, affectionate, playful, and has been working hard to become the very best version of himself.

One of the sweetest things about Buddy is how he shows affection. He’ll rest his head on you, and according to his foster family, it feels like a hug. He loves his people, enjoys playing with balls and toys, and is a wonderfully quiet dog. Buddy rarely barks, doesn’t whine to get out of his crate, and if he’s outside, he patiently waits by the door rather than barking or pawing to come in.

Buddy is crate trained and absolutely loves to learn. He recently completed a 3-week training camp, and his foster family has continued working hard with him. They’ve already seen wonderful progress, including no longer lunging at certain people while on walks. His foster family believes continued training and positive guidance will help him keep building confidence.

Buddy also does well with his foster family’s cat. Their cat, Boots, will even sleep beside Buddy and rub against him. He also lives with another dog, although he does best with other dogs when food isn’t involved, so thoughtful introductions and continued training around resources are important.

And Buddy is wonderful with children! He has been great with his foster family’s 7-year-old, making him a loving companion for the right family.

Buddy is smart, loyal, affectionate, playful, and eager to learn. He has already made so much progress, and we know his future family can help him continue to thrive.

Could you be the person who gives Buddy the patience, guidance, and forever love he deserves?

Buddy is ready to learn, ready to love, and ready to find his forever home.

You may visit https://roxysranchhaven.org/for-adoption/ to do this as well. If you are unsure which animal is the best fit for you, but would like to adopt, please continue with Step 2. 2. Complete the Adoption Application Fill out the form completely, including all details that will help us ensure a good match between you and the animal. 3. Phone Screening Once your application is submitted, a member of our team will contact you for a phone screening to go over your information and confirm if the pet is a good fit. 4. Schedule a Farm Visit If approved, we’ll arrange a time for you to visit Roxy’s Ranch Haven to meet the animal in person. This will be confirmed by email or during your call. 5. Adoption Fee & Paperwork After your visit, you’ll receive an email with instructions for submitting the $350 adoption fee (which supports the farm) along with the post-adoption form and official paperwork, including shelter notes and medical records. 6. Meet your future pet During your visit, you’ll spend time with the pet you’re interested in and get to know them better. 7.
