Meet Buddy Boy! Buddy Boy (BB) is a sweet, sensitive 3-year-old Kooikerhondje mix with a gentle heart and a freckly nose to match. Mostly brown with a white chest, belly, and feet, he’s as handsome as he is kind. Buddy Boy came to rescue from Louisiana after undergoing bilateral cataract surgery, and he’s now enjoying life with improved vision—he just needs once-daily eye drops to keep his eyes healthy. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and thriving in his foster home with dogs, cats, and adults.<br/><br/>Buddy Boy is a calm, affectionate companion who loves cuddling on the sofa or bed, watching TV, sitting at your feet, and—most of all—being petted. In fact, if you stop, he may politely paw the air to remind you to continue. He absolutely adores cats and prefers quieter, calmer canine friends. BB can be a little nervous around loud noises, lots of activity, or stairs (which he’s still bravely learning), and he may briefly hide under the bed when unsure—but patience and kindness bring him right back out. He’s always been gentle, with no aggression toward people or animals.<br/><br/>Buddy Boy would do best in a peaceful home, ideally with kids 5 and up, where he can enjoy a predictable routine and lots of affection. The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!
