Buddy

Buddy is a 9-year-old Havanese who spent his life as a breeder without having the luxury of being someone’s special little dog! He came to our rescue in fall of 2024, scared of humans, withdrawn, and not showing interest in life. Most of his time was spent in his crate, where he simply quivered. It took many months for him to realize he was safe; it was heart-warming to see him lie peacefully in his open crate like he had not a care in the world! Though making progress, Buddy is still quite shy with humans, and his adopter will need to be gentle and patient with him to continue his progress. He is quiet, gentle and compliant (particularly with grooming). He gets along well with other dogs and will benefit from a canine friend to show him the ropes. A fenced potty area is required until Buddy gets comfortable on a leash or tie-out. Buddy is current on vaccinations, heart worm negative and had a dental cleaning in August of 2024.
