Buddy's Story
Always wanted to get involved in Rescue? To save a life? Need a dose of rewarding in your life? Here's your chance to volunteer with an exceptional group @ Rosemarie's Rescue Ranch and LITERALLY save a life by fostering. Buddy was completely abandoned. His owners either left him in a crate, or gave someone responsibility and they left him in a crate. For 5 days this dog was locked up with absolutely nothing. It breaks my heart - all the more reason we need dogs in our life for unconditional doses of goodness, right?? Fast forward to today: Buddy is being fostered by a dog behaviorist, who has seen a LOT of dogs. When I first sat down with him, the first thing he said to me was "This dog is a winner". Despite all he's been through he is the most affectionate, loving, people-pleasing dog that charms everyone he meets. Buddy is one of those large dogs who has no idea of his size, which makes himcharming and a bit of a goof. He's about 80 lbs now at 2 years, and will probablystay around there. (He's kind of thin and could use some chonking up though :) We believe him to be a Mountain Cur mix, vet says Shepard mix - either way, this dog is a Prince! He flops around the house, and his tail is a total table sweeper. He doesn't mean it though! He seems to be constantly surprised at this.... Buddy is absolutely a lover and not a fighter - he shows NO signs of aggression and loves to make friends with everyone he meets! Because of this, we think he will accept cats, but should be tested. He loves other dogs, and people of all sizes, but he's a big fella' and could possible knock over a toddler with that tail, so would restrict to older children for that reason alone. Big rambunctious Bud has energy, and loves to run around and loves to explore! Got a fence? He only wants to know what's on the other side - he's a curious and adventurous. He's a smart boy, and know Come and Sit, but when he sits he sometimes slides to the floor;) He's so fun to watch - such a goofball! He doesn't play much with toys on his own - he would much rather watch or do whatever YOUR doing. And whatever it is, he is totally up for it!! He likes walks and gets very excited at the prospect, then calms when he walks and does well. He's good in the car too, as well as 100% housebroken, vaccinated and healthy. Buddy is headed for a happy life - we are going to ensure that. An active family with time and energy and tons of love who will never leave him is all he needs. Come and meet Buddy - he's so fun and loveable he'll steal your heart. If anyone deserved a happy ending, it's our Buddy.
