Buddy's Story

Meet Buddy This sweet boy has come SUCH a long way since making the trip from NM and has shown us how brave he really is. While he's still learning to navigate the world, he has proven he can do so fearlessly.

Buddy has the gentlest soul and is ready to find his forever family. While he may be a little shy and timid at first, you'll be surprised at his ability to open up and show you his full personality. Buddy's love is earned, but with patience, care, and an abundance of cuddles, he will be attached to your hip in no time. Watching him learn how to trust again has been one of the most enjoyable experiences!

Buddy would be the perfect 2nd dog with a confident companion, but would also do great as a solo artist. Above anything else, he loves nothing more than a solid romp session with his foster brother and sister. This boy knows how to play, but understands when it's time to wind down. He's also crate trained and will often return to his space on his own when he needs some time to decompress! He does well on his walks and on leash, and has almost nailed potty training, which is impressive for a dog that isn't motivated by food! He would do well in an apartment or a house with a yard - he's not picky, but he does need time & space to exercise!

Loud noises are sometimes startling and he has just a touch of separation anxiety that only show up in the form of barking while in his crate, but he settles down after a few minutes. Same goes for seeing people on TV (this one's new ) - but that's quickly solved with pets and cuddles.

Buddy has quickly become a loyal companion to us, and will thrive with a family who is willing to be patient and accepting of his whole self. We promise, you won't be disappointed :)
