Buddy's Story

💙BUDDY💙 needs a good home!

Buddy is a 2 year old, 10.5lb Yorkie mix who didn’t have the best start to life. He came to us with fleas and is Heartworm positive. He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment but he needs a safe quiet home to recover in. Buddy is up to date on shots now but has not yet been neutered due to the heartworm treatment. He has had some training and is working on his manners and will need adult humans who can keep it up. He will do best in a home with older children or adult only home. He does get along with other dogs and cats. He is sweet and loving and just needs some TLC. Can you open your heart & home to Buddy?

Birmingham Dog Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
We ask that they please complete our online adoption application. If it looks like it could be a fit for one of our dogs, we will call them to do a phone screen. If they pass the phone screen we do a meet n greet with the dog and we do either a home visit or a face time call so we can see where the dog would be living. We call references if necessary. We do a second meet n greet if necessary. For some dogs, we have a dog trainer involved who meets with them before and after adoption to ensure a smooth transition and to give the adopter tips on working with the dog. Each adoption scenario might be slightly different depending on the dog and family's needs.
