Bucky's Story

Bucky is Bubba’s partner in crime and the calm to his chaos — a handsome Pit Lab mix with a gentle soul and a playful streak. He’s the kind of dog who’s always nearby, whether he’s keeping watch from the porch, trotting beside you on a walk, or curling up after a long day of fun. Bucky has a quiet confidence and a sweet personality that wins people over instantly. Loyal, smart, and always ready for snacks or scratches behind the ears, he’s more than Bubba’s brother — he’s the steady-hearted sidekick every family wishes for.

Neutered, UTD on vaccines

Winnie's Warriors Animal Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
Our adoption policies are designed to ensure the best possible match between our shelter dogs and their future families. Every prospective adopter completes an application that helps us understand their lifestyle, home environment, and experience with pets. This allows us to recommend dogs whose energy level, temperament, and care needs align well with the household. We encourage meet-and-greets with all household members—including other dogs—to promote a smooth transition. All dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and medically evaluated prior to adoption. We take time to discuss each dog’s personality, history (when known), and any special needs so adopters can make an informed decision. Adoption fees help cover veterinary care and daily shelter costs. Our goal is not simply to place dogs quickly, but to create lasting, successful adoptions that benefit both the dog and the adopter.
