Bucket's Story

Thanks for checking me out! I'm Bucket and have nicknames like Buck, Bucky and Bucks. You're probably wondering how I got my name, well let's just say I put my nose in places I probably shouldn't and I was thirsty and hungry because my people in Texas never took care of me. I was found with a bucket on my head and everyone said I was super lucky because for 6 days I couldn't be caught!

Now that I've landed an amazing foster home in Virginia, I've realized that dogs are LOVED! I get fed, pet, have nice fur friends, and even get to lay in a bed! I love everyone and my favorite person is a 9yr old child. I'm super loyal and will follow you everywhere. My foster mom says I’m a total GOOF. I’ll make you laugh allll the time! I've even been tested with cats, although when they take off running, I think it's a game and I want to join in. My rescue says I’m a little too much for kitties so it’s best for me to live with dogs and kiddos.

The rescue thinks I'm about 2 years old and I weigh 63lbs but I still need to gain some weight. I got snipped on June 16th and my foster mom quietly uses the word neutered and I think it's because I'm still learning proper house etiquette and I sometimes like to lift my leg on things but not very often. She puts this belly band thing on me and somehow it makes me not want to be naughty. Since being neutered, all of sudden it’s like I know that pee pee is for outdoors only! Who knew?!? I even sleep in a crate at night and when she's gone but I would LOVE it if your couch or bed could be my main place to lay my head. My foster mommy also noticed my tail was not wagging like a normal dog when I get happy. So she sent me for x-rays and apparently I had an old injury to the base of my tail that causes me no pain but just makes my tail limp. The vet said whatever happened I was super lucky. I can still wag the bottom of it though and I show my happiness through my handsome face and happy zoomies!

Do you think I could come join your family? I would love nothing more then to have a family that loves me. My foster mom says she needs to save more dogs like me and that it'll be a sad farewell for her but that I am going to make somebody SUPER happy.

If you think I'm the perfect new guy for your home, and you live in the MD/NoVa/DC area and are looking for a loyal companion who will love you deeply and bring comfort to your home, apply now at:
--->>>> https://www.foreverchangedar.org/adopt-a-pet!
