Buck's Story
Buck is a friendly, snuggly boy who loves nothing more than curling up beside you on the couch after a good walk. He’s potty trained, crate trained and walks nicely on leash most of the time. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoys meeting smaller furry friends — they seem to bring out his gentle, playful side.

Around the house, Buck can sometimes bark to get your attention or pull a bit on leash when excited, but he’s eager to please and easy to redirect. He’s also a bit of a shadow — if having a loyal companion follow you from room to room sounds like a dream, Buck might be your guy! When the silly mood strikes, Buck is pure joy — flopping his body around in play, gently “cobbing” you, and inviting you to chase him. His goofy side always brings smiles and laughter.

Buck has a medium energy level and would thrive in many types of homes. He enjoys hikes and outdoor adventures just as much as he loves being a cozy couch potato. While he hasn’t been tested with young kids, he’d likely do best with older children or teens who can respect his space. A calmer home with fewer new visitors would help him feel most secure — especially if there’s already another friendly dog or two to show him the ropes.

Buck’s biggest challenge is his nervousness around new people. When meeting someone new, he may be shy or have a nervous accident, but it doesn't last long. You can see the curiosity in his eyes — he wants to trust — he just needs a little patience and reassurance. Once he feels safe, his affectionate and goofy personality shines through.

From cowering in a corner at the shelter to curling up beside his foster every night, Buck has blossomed into a loving, joyful companion. Whoever adopts this sweet, silly boy will be gaining a loyal best friend and endless smiles.

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/how-to-adopt
