Buck's Story

Meet Buck!!!

Buck is a 1-year-old, large boy (around 60 lbs and possibly still growing) who came to us as a transfer from another shelter, so his early history is unknown. What we do know is that Buck is a friendly, social young dog who’s still figuring out the world and learning his basics—he’s already working on “sit” and showing good potential.

As a young adult, Buck is still developing the skills he needs to be a well-rounded companion and would benefit from continued training and guidance. He can be enthusiastic when meeting other dogs and sometimes comes on a bit strong, so we highly recommend adopters plan for training support to help him build better social manners. With consistency and positive reinforcement, Buck has plenty of room to grow into a polite, confident dog.

Buck appears to be mostly potty trained and would do best with a continued routine in his new home. We recommend that all family members—and any resident dogs—meet him here at the shelter prior to adoption to ensure a good fit. With patience, structure, and training, Buck has all the makings of a fun, loyal companion ready to mature into a great adult dog.

He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives.
If you have further questions, please call the shelter at (517) 626-6060 or email our adoption staff at adoptions@AdoptLansing.org.
