Buck's Story

Buck - An Active, Large and Friendly Pure Bred German Shepherd

eet Buck, a large, goofy, loyal German Shepherd in search of a home where he can have your undivided attention. He is estimated to be between 2-3 years old and in great shape. Buck is a large boy, about 80 pounds and still growing. He is healthy, neutered and up to date on vaccines and preventatives.

Buck loves car rides, hikes, walks, and TOYS! If you turn on the TV, he will watch it with you! Buck thinks he’s a lap dog! He will even let you clip his nails, brush him, and clean his ears. He loves every person he’s met and is patient around children. Additionally, Buck is obedience training, responds to commands, walks nicely on a leash and likes to show off his intelligence and good looks.

Formerly known as Dylan, Buck came to Sedona from Elizabeth, NJ. Buck had a rough start to his life, an unknown battle in the beginning that can only be told from scars and fears. Buck was rescued after Hurricane Ida where he was left caged, 3/4th submerged. Elizabeth Fire heard his cries while turning off the gas to the abandoned apartments. Buck has since visited the department to thank everyone that saved him! Buck was subsequently adopted and still with his new owner, but he has not been able to integrate with the other dogs in the household.

Although Buck is confident and comfortable with people, he lacks confidence around other dogs and can become reactive. He is generally calm and cooperative with submissive dogs. With dominant dogs, Buck will be reactive. Buck has lived with other dogs, but it is clear that he will thrive in a home with no other animals.

Based on his size and activity level, adopters with a fenced in yard will be given a higher priority.

Interested in Buck?
