Bruno's Story

UPDATED 6/2/2026 Hi! My name is Bruno! I'm a 5-year old male tricolor beagle! I have a birthday coming up in May & then I'll be 6! I love to be outside & go for walks! I think going for a walk is great fun! I love attention from my people! The more the better! :) I'm great with children! I'm in a foster home with a 4- & a 7-year old children & I do very well with them. I don't really play with them, though. I've lived with other dogs & I get along well with them! Sometimes I'm good with cats - sometimes not so much. You would probably have to work with me if you have a cat. I'm housetrained! I'm used to going outside about 5 times a day. I'll wait by the door to let you know I need to go outside. Sometimes I will bark to let you know I need to go outside. I'm crate trained also. I will howl when I first go into a crate, but then I settle down. I don't like to be alone. I'll bark the entire time my people are away. I just need to be with a person. If I have to be left alone, it's probably best to crate me. It helps me stay calm. So I need a forever home where me barking when I'm not with a person won't be a problem. I used to sleep on the furniture & in bed with my people. But the rules changed & my prior people had me sleep on a dog bed instead. I'm allowed to sleep where I want in my foster home! I had a really tough start to life. My mother had a C-section & they blow dried her. But I got a lot of the heat & part of my ear & top of my nose was burned off. It doesn't hurt now, though. I'm tough! So that's a little about me! I'm anxious to find my forever home! Are you it?? I'm up-to-date on vaccines & neutered. Please think about making me part of your family! Kennel License #4068

Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
