Bruno's Story
Handsome Shepherd!MEET BRUNO!

This handsome boy is a 2 year old Shepherd mix that weighs in at a healthy 62 lbs. Having come from a background of neglect, Bruno caught the eye (and heart) of the animal control officer on his case and she took him home to foster. He has been thriving ever since and is the happiest boy. He is grateful to be safe and loved and has shown himself to be very loyal.

Bruno is crate trained and house trained. He is quiet in his kennel. He is a smart boy who has already learned Sit, Stay and Place and would love to continue learning (like most shepherds, as they enjoy using their brains)! Bruno needs an active family who has experience with shepherds since he is very in-tune with his handler. He relies on his handler for confidence and calmness, otherwise he can be a stereotypical reactive shepherd on walks.

Bruno shares his foster home with 5 dogs, a cat, and two sheep. He has shown mild food guarding with other dogs, though it is easily managed by feeding him in his crate. To set him up for success in his future home, he should be fed separately. If he were to go to a home with a cat, the cat should be dog savvy, otherwise he may be too interested and try to chase.

Bruno has met older children and has done well. He would do best with children 16+ since he tends to need proper introductions with people. He meets people easily while on a walk and is wiggly and seeks attention from them within a couple of minutes.

With the right handler Bruno is wonderful and has so much potential. He is currently being walked on a prong collar and is doing well going for long walks, hikes, and to the park.

Bruno’s adoption donation fee is $450, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for him by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org. Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.
