Bruno's Story

Bruno is the perfect adventure companion. He is a handsome, intelligent, loyal and loving 2-year-old German Shepherd with an absolutely ideal energy level. Bruno is a country dog at heart. He thrives in wide open spaces where he can be off leash. He is also a true “dog’s dog” – he has never met a dog he doesn’t like and brings that quintessential German Shepherd play energy. Bruno is truly in his element when in a home with multiple dogs and lots of land to roam and romp. Bruno is shy around new people at first, but within a short amount of time he will likely be laying all over them looking for scratches! Bruno is a very quick learner. He has mastered sit and down and is excellent at the place command. He will stay on place even when tempted by treats. Bruno walks calmly on a leash and doesn’t pull. He is not reactive to other dogs at all. When hiking off leash with him, he will never let his pack (dogs or people) out of sight. His recall is also excellent.

Bruno has lived with one of our volunteers in Encinitas for the last 7 months and fortunately, we know exactly the type of home that Bruno will thrive in. His ideal home is one with multiple dogs and wide-open spaces for him to roam. He has great manners and has never chewed anything in the house. Bruno is very shy around children and tries to get away from them as fast as he can, therefore the ideal home would be one with teenage kids or adults. To watch Bruno play with other dogs and/or hike off-leash is to see pure joy – he will be smiling from ear to ear and promptly run over to you and give you a “hug”. Upon returning home Bruno will promptly fall asleep. He loves to cuddle on the couch, but is equally as happy to have some alone time.

Bruno is a truly exceptional German Shepherd that will thrive in a rural setting where he can fully express his adventurous spirit. He doesn’t care for city living but loves car rides and will be your loyal companion around the house, in the yard, or out in nature. Bruno will win your heart, become best friends with your other dogs, and be an amazing addition to your human and canine pack. Come meet Bruno today, you’ll be so glad you did.

*Bruno’s current family is committed to making this a smooth transition for him and you and to ensure this is a great fit for all involved*

Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/ to learn more about our dogs. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
