Bruce III's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bruce will let you sleep late! He lets his foster mom stay in bed until 9 am on the weekends. When he finally wakes up, he wants ear scratches and belly rubs. Overall his avtivity level is pretty moderate, but every now and then he has bursts of energy and gets the zoomies. Bruce really loves being with other dogs and they help his confidence a lot. In his foster home he plays Security Chief, keeping tabs on what's going on outside. He is fluent with the doggie door and goes out to sniff around in the backyard. He is also good on a leash. Bruce came to us skinny and fearful and he can still be timid and sensitive to loud noises, fast movements, and new people. Patience and gentleness are the key to his trust. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he'll follow you around the house and even snuggle with you. His foster mom has been crating him both at night and when she's away, and he's doing fine with that. He doesn't always like going in the crate, but once he's in there, he settles down right away. Bruce tested positive for heartworms, but has gone through treatment and is doing well. He is housebroken and is anxiously awaiting a sleepover.
