Bruce's Story

Bruce /Male / 12 weeks / Northern Mix / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: 8+ / Location: Welland

BRUCE HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.

And yes... we know. FINALLY.

First things first: Bruce is going to be a BIG boy. We are not talking “cute little puppy who fits perfectly in a condo” big. We mean please have space, time and energy because this guy has ALL of the above big.

Bruce needs a home that is ready to keep his body AND his brain busy. He is an active, playful puppy who is still quite nippy, so young children aren’t the best fit for him right now.

Now that we’ve gotten the responsible stuff out of the way...

Bruce is a professional shoe and sock thief.
He has no regrets.
He has no plans to stop.
He is, in fact, extremely proud of himself.

Bruce LOVES routine and will absolutely inform you when you are late with his meals. And by “inform you,” we mean he will file a formal complaint. He is VERY vocal when he wants food or water, and this boy has a huge appetite to match his growing body.

He can be a little nervous sometimes, but his confidence is growing every day. He loves to play, explore, be mischievous and generally make sure nobody in the house gets too comfortable.

Bruce isn’t much of a human cuddler, but he still wants to be near his people. He’s perfectly happy sleeping at your feet or hanging out close by. His foster siblings, however, get the premium cuddle package.

Bruce LOVES everyone he meets and just wants to be part of whatever is happening. He would likely do really well with a canine friend, especially one who can match his energy.

At night, Bruce does great in his crate as long as his people are nearby. He lets his foster family know when he needs to go outside and then happily goes back into his crate once business has been handled. He’s still a puppy, though, and sometimes needs an overnight potty break because apparently sleeping for 8 straight hours is an unreasonable expectation at this stage.

He LOVES chasing a ball. He LOVES squeaky toys. And when we say he loves a squeaky toy, we mean he can entertain himself with one for a VERY, VERY long time. Your neighbours may also eventually develop opinions about said squeaky toy.

Bruce is sweet, curious, energetic, adventurous and loving. He’s also goofy, mischievous, loud when necessary, obsessed with snacks and currently believes socks are a perfectly acceptable form of currency.

Basically... Bruce is a whole lot of puppy.

He needs a family who is ready for the commitment, training, patience, exercise and general chaos that comes with raising a big, active puppy, but in return, you’re getting one seriously fun little dude who just wants to be where his people and his dog friends are.

Bruce will be neutered at 6 months of age at one of our partner veterinary clinics, and his neuter is included in his adoption fee.

So... there you have it.

Please secure your socks accordingly.

https://forms.gle/Bo1YELrqTNrkhroa6
