Bruce is a 6-month-old shepherd mix with the softest eyes and the bravest little heart. He came to us after an unimaginably rough start; he was found discarded in a dumpster, as if his life didn’t matter. <br/>It did. <br/>It does. <br/>And Bruce is slowly learning that now.<br/><br/>Because of his past, Bruce needs a little time to warm up to humans. On his first day, he stayed tucked into his safe spot, quietly observing the world and trying to figure out if he was truly okay, with just a gentle tail wag or two. Day 2, he met his foster sibling. His demeanor shifted. He instantly opened up, became playful and happy! Day 3, he came out of his crate and he greeted me in the morning with a whole body wiggle and stood on my legs for affection.<br/><br/>Once Bruce trusts you, his true personality shines through. He is affectionate, sweet, and incredibly loving. He absolutely adores other dogs and gains a lot of confidence from their presence, so a home with a friendly canine companion would be a huge bonus for him.<br/><br/>Bruce is crate trained and currently working on house training. He’s only about 25 pounds right now and very skinny, but don’t worry…we’re already on a mission to fatten him up and give him the healthy, happy puppyhood he missed out on.<br/><br/>Bruce doesn’t need perfection. He needs patience, kindness, and someone willing to let him move at his own pace.
