Neutered Male
12 Years Old
38 Pounds
Fee, $0 Sponsored.

I'm in a foster home, please fill out an adoption application at www.hsomc.org to get that wonderful chance to meet me! https://hsomc.dm.networkforgood.com/forms/adoption-inquiry

Brownie is a 12-year-old neutered male Beagle with a handsome dark brown and white coat and a sturdy 38-pound frame. This sweet old gentleman is the definition of a calm, stubborn little man — and we mean that in the most loving way possible.

Brownie enjoys the simple things in life: leisurely strolls where he can stop and smell absolutely everything, a cozy bed to nap in, and the quiet companionship of his people. He doesn’t have much energy these days, so he’s perfectly content with short walks and plenty of relaxation time.

Brownie is blind (likely only able to see shadows) and appears to be hard of hearing, so he navigates the world in his own special way. Because of this, he would need to be kept on a leash or in a securely fenced yard — like most Beagles, if he catches an interesting scent, he may wander! Despite his sensory limitations, he gets around well once he learns his environment.

He is housebroken and has spent the last several years living with one elderly person, so he’s very accustomed to a quieter home. Brownie is good with kids but would do best in a home that understands he’s a senior who enjoys peace and predictability. He gets along with other dogs and would likely thrive with a calm, older canine companion who matches his laid-back energy.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion to share slow mornings, soft blankets, and unconditional love, Brownie may be your perfect match. He’s ready to spend his golden years soaking up all the comfort and care he deserves.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
