Brownie's Story

Brownie is still looking for his forever home we know it’s going to be like finding a needle in a haystack but he deserves his forever Meet 3 y.o Brownie! The one-of-a-kind asshat dog with attitude and a strong preference for very few people .. who is looking for a forever home (or at least someone who will tolerate him). Are your days boring? Looking for something to spice up your life? Have we got a dog for you!!! Mr. Brownie came to SFMR after being shot with buckshot that riddled his entire body. His 18-pound little body suffered an abundance of trauma, including a positive heartworm test and no use of his left front leg; this little dude got worked over.

After months of healing, Sir Asshat, aka Brownie, is finally in a good place and ready to find a family to torment. His heartworm treatment has been successfully completed, and he has regained full use of his leg- but could still use an attitude adjustment. He loves lying outside in the sun or just chilling in his crate with the door open. He is currently being fostered with 4 other dogs and 3 cats and tolerates them just fine on his terms (no aggression, just interacts when he feels like it). His attitude is kept in check with any figure of authority (aka he responds well to correction), and as much as he pretends to be a bad ass, his nightly ritual of cuddling up in your lap watching TV lets us know he’s truly a softie.

Brownie would do best in a forever home that appreciates a dog with plenty of sass, trauma-survivor grit, and loyalty as fat as a kid's love for cake. If you want a companion who will keep you entertained, keep you humble, and nightly let you cuddle him like he didn’t spend all day acting like a tiny tyrant, this is your guy.

To adopt, copy the link below and paste it into your browser to submit an adoption application.
