Brownie's Story
***Currently located in Seattle, WA***

Hi, I'm Brownie!

And if you're looking for a sweet spot in your life, I'm your girl!

Like a lot of dogs in Mexico, I spent the first several months of my life out on the street, searching for food, love, and a safe place to rest. I was around seven months old when I was picked up by the rescue. Once I arrived at the shelter, I knew things were finally looking up.

Physically, I'm what you might call a slightly untypical Mexi-Mutt. Still gorgeous, of course —but my body's a little stockier and I am not as long-legged as my fellow shelter mates!

Personality-wise? I'm a total cuddlebug. I absolutely love affection, and I'll gladly soak up all the love you want to give. But once I've had my fill, I'm just as happy to wander off and curl up in my favorite spot—like the bottom shelf of an old bookcase (yes, really!). I've got this lovely medium energy that makes me super easy to live with. I can get excited and playful (especially when other dogs are involved!), but I also know how to settle down, relax, and enjoy the moment. You can leave me chilling while you work or do your thing, and when you come back to me, I'll be so happy you're there again.

I love to play and don't mind a bit of roughhousing—especially with the bigger dogs here. I adjust really well to the dogs around me. I'd do great in a home with other playful pups, but I can also be content with solo adventures and quality time with my human.

Some other things about me:
I'm crate trained and actually go in willingly when I need to
I walk well on leash and love going outside
I'm food motivated and eager to learn
I've got a good amount of confidence for a street pup—just enough to thrive, not too much to cause trouble!

Even though I didn't grow up as a pet, I've adjusted fast—and I'm ready to keep learning what it means to be someone's dog. I'd really love a family that can give me structure, love, and fun... in equal measure.

At the end of a long day, I promise: a Brownie is all you need.

With love and facelicks,
Your Brownie

If you are interested in FOSTERING, click on the Foster Button and fill out the online Foster Application
If you are interested in ADOPTING, click on the Adopt Button and fill out the online Adoption Application
Check out our VOLUNTEER Opportunities here https://www.surfersforstrays.org/get-involved

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
