Brownie's Story
PLEASE NOTE!
Anyone interested in meeting or wanting more info on one of our available dogs MUST CONTACT US AT OUR NEW EMAIL ADDRESS. sparrok9adoption@yahoo.com
If you are using our old comcast email address or by phone we can't be sure that you will receive a reply due to the extreme volume of spam and robocalls that those methods receive on a daily basis. We also do not reply to messages from the Petfinder link, YOU MUST USE OUR EMAIL TO CONTACT US.

UPDATE 3/24/2026 Brownie had a trial in a new home where he was doing great until he figured out that there was also a cat in the home. The good news is he did not hurt the cat, but he also made it very clear he was not going to be able to live in the home with the cat, so he is back at SPARRO and available. He has healed from his neutering and has put on a few pounds. Except for the cat he did great in his temporary home and loved playing with the other lab there.

Brownie came to us after his owner passed away. He had been living with the owners partner for a year but she was not able to handle him due to her own age and limited abilities so he was spending up to 23 hours per day crated. She knew it was not how he should be living so she ask us to take him in. He is on the thin side for his frame and we are working on getting him up to around 70 pounds from his current 58. He is very friendly and has done well with the other dogs here, but due to the long periods of being crated he likes to play "stay away" when you try to get him into the house. No aggression at all, he just refuses to come close enough to grab his collar to direct him inside. He is very strong on leash also. Because of these traits he does require a fenced yard. He was born 12/13/2019 so he just turned 6 years old. He is up to date with his vetting and is ready for adoption to a loving family.

If you are interested in more information or to set up a visit with this pet, please contact SPARRO at our NEW EMAIL address. sparrok9adoption@yahoo.com
