Meet Brownie~

Hi! I’m Brownie, a 6-7 month old Vizsla mix and I need a Forever Home. Rusty-tan underneath, face and nose. But a dark back coating. Super quiet (heard him bark once in a week) with a little whine and whimper when he wants something (like food or go outside). Handsome and cute

Excellent on a leash (woods, open field, walking path) but really wants the freedom to run. Great with getting in/out of the car and up/down steps. Great in the car, doesn’t cry on a few quick errands. Long trip he put his head on the console and chilled/slept.

Solid cuddler, loves pets and hugs. Will cuddle with you but eventually wants to get up. Sleeps under the computer desk, laying on my foot. Doesn’t like the crate but hops into bed and sleeps by/on my feet, almost 100% house broken.

Loves to chew on things. Eats good, more of a graze, doesn’t scarf it all down. A little finicky when it comes to treats and toys, but meat always wins. Knows his name but gets easily distracted by smells, strange sounds, and sudden movements. Has sit almost down and working on other basic commands. Quick learner and remembers well. Rarely jumps, mostly when he has to go. Not a fan of big crowds. Shy of people but will warm up quickly!

All in all – well rounded dog, inside & outside. Great for a family, someone active or just needs a best friend. ~Love, Brownie's foster father

*The adoption fee is $450.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, Bravecto (3 month flea/tick and heartworm preventative), leash and collar, ProHeart 12~adults only (Heartworm prevention lasting 12 months), and the mandatory CT HB 5368 exam.

BREED IDENTIFICATION:
Please understand that many rescue dogs are mixes of multiple breeds. Petfinder allows us to choose up to two breeds per dog. While the shelters and our rescue do our best in accurately identifying breeds, breed identification is not guaranteed. If there is a certain breed that you do not want, it is very important that you share this with our rescue when applying. When adopting a puppy, breed uncertainty plays a big part in the size/look of the dog as an adult. Please know that any puppy can be a wonderful dog, regardless of preconceived notions of certain breeds, but it is very important that the adopter has the dedication and patience to raise the puppy with boundaries, consistency, structure, & love. The more effort you give towards training & time you allow for exercise, your puppy will grow to be a HUGE source of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TOTAL LOYALTY, HAPPINESS, COMFORT & COMPANIONSHIP!

ABOUT OUR RESCUE:
We are a small rescue run by volunteers & focused on finding the right match for both our dogs & for you. If you are interested in adopting through our rescue, you first will need to complete an adoption application & be approved as a potential adopter before meeting any of our pups. No need to be intimidated by our application as it allows us to get to know you & your lifestyle. Of course, the more you can share the better! Please also note, while a fenced yard is fantastic, it is not required by our rescue, however, it may be required for a certain dog occasionally. Once adoption applicants are approved to become potential adopters, we offer private appointments where you can meet one or several dogs at the discretion of the rescue. We offer a unique & pleasant experience focused on finding the perfect match. It is extremely important to us that everyone is treated with respect & that NO ONE IS LEFT HANGING. WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU WITHIN 2 TO 3 DAYS of application submission. SOME PROVIDERS HAVE VERY STRICT POLICIES REGARDING WHICH TYPE OF DOG BREEDS ARE ALLOWED UNDER THEIR COVERAGE. STATE FARM WAS SUGGESTED TO US AS THEY DO NOT PUNISH, DROP, NOR REFUSE YOU DUE TO DOG BREED SHOULD YOU RUN INTO ISSUES WITH YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER.
