Brownie's Story
We are estimating Brownie to be around 1 to 1 ½ years old but you would never know it from his relatively calm demeanor and energy level. He is just one of those younger dogs that is not bouncing off the walls with uncontained energy. My kind of boy! 😊

He is a neutered male Pitbull mix weighing 65 lbs. and I’m sorry to say lost his home when his owner lost his and he could no longer care for Brownie. His loss could be your gain if you happen to be looking for a fantastic dog that needs a forever home for about the next 12 or 13 years.

It should be noted that Brownie came into the shelter with a case of fleas and ticks and needed to be treated before becoming available for adoption. You might see some thinning of the hair on his back but that will grow back quickly.
Pretty sure he has had potty training. Pooped and peed as soon as we got out the door and onto the grass. Then a couple more times on just a short walk. Glad I had several bags with me. Just please be patient with him while he learns the lay of the land in a new home and new routine. I walked Brownie on just a slip lead and honestly, he can be strong with the pulling and probably never had any leash training. But a harness would be really helpful, and we would provide you with one, along with a leash, at the time of adoption.

Brownie has been taught all the basic commands. He will do a nice sit, point at the ground and he will drop down, will do a stay, and will come to you when you call him. He must have some Retriever in him. He loves chasing down a tennis ball and drops it at your feet to throw it again. And again. Good exercise for him. Watch the video of him on Petfinder to see him in action. Plus get a good look at him and also get an idea of his energy level.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home, there will be a meet & greet at the shelter. We believe Brownie may be very dog selective, or only dog tolerant so he may do best in a home without other dogs.

Brownie is super friendly and affectionate. What he does best is place his head in your lap and keep it there until you have had enough. 😊 Someone out there is going to get a terrific dog. I wish he could be mine, but I can’t do multiple dogs anymore. I am pretty certain that if you just give Brownie a few minutes of your time, you will have found the dog you have been looking for and grateful you met Brownie.
