Meet Brownie!<br/><br/>Estimated DOB: 9/28/25<br/>Male <br/>Shepherd/Retriever mix <br/><br/>Brownie is a confident, playful shepherd mix puppy who’s always ready for fun. He is about 5 months old and 25 lbs. He is a real LOOKER. People cannot get over how he looks like a stuffed animal. He has VERY soft fur. <br/><br/>Brownie has classic puppy energy—lots of playtime, tug of war, wrestling with another pup and then naps once he’s worn himself out. He LOVES toys, especially anything interactive or treat-based, and peanut butter is a huge hit. He walks very well and at a brisk clip on a leash if you are seeking a walking companion, but off leash as well as his foster lives on large private property where he walks in lockstep enjoying the smells of the Fox River and woods as he pleases!<br/><br/>He does great with other dogs and would enjoy having a dog sibling to play with, but he’d also be perfectly happy as the center of attention in a one-dog home. He has proven gentle with toddlers and kitty cats. At the end of the day, he loves to sit on a lap with the family and watch TV, or snuggle as kids are put into bed. He is then taken out one more time and sleeps in his crate. <br/><br/>He is still working on potty training -- getting close, and would likely have it nailed in a yard with another resident dog, but he does well when taken out consistently and supervised. He’s crate trained and may bark or cry briefly when left alone (6-10 minutes), though he settles fairly quickly! He is still working on some small manners like counter jumping but these have are being rectified steadily with consistent positive enforcement. He does well getting a little bath in the tub - necessary after a romp in the woods! If you like to exercise your dog, have a dog who enjoys the other pups and crazy playtime, and then snuggle while sitting at home, Brownie is your BOY! <br/><br/>He’s a confident, adaptable pup who is likely to transition easily into a new home and make himself right at home. <br/><br/>Adopters will be provided a voucher to cover the cost of spay/neuter at a local participating vet when age appropriate. <br/><br/>Interested in adopting?
