BRONCO SRC#1688 ADOPTED's Story
I am micro-chipped, have all my vaccinations, been neutered and will be evaluated for 2 weeks by my foster family

(1688) BRONCO's Story

BRONCO with this unique identification number: (SRC#1688) came into SRC's care recently and will be prepared for adoption by a foster family who have gone thru our approval process. Don’t think just because he is named “BRONCO” that this little15 pound Schnauzer is terribly rambunctious, he can be an absolute sweetheart! He actually came by his name because this little dog showed up during a Broncos game and thus the name. We will know much more about him once he has been fully evaluated and he has been scheduled to go to foster parents for his evaluation in about one week. Bronco will be staying with our Intake Coordinator until this foster parent is open to take Bronco in. 0ur Intake Coordinator’s family finds him to be delightful. Bronco has quite a history and could have easily perished had it not been for the compassionate people who took him in when he was found starving to death either set out or lost from his original family. Poor little Bronco was so matted and pitiful that it was hard to tell if he was even a dog let alone a Schnauzer. Loving hands took him to the vet and got him started on the way to health once again. A proper diet, time and loving care helped this precious one so much! He almost had a permanent home yet he just could not break one bad habit – it seems he is becoming cat aggressive. We don’t know just how aggressive this is but the 3 rescue cats in this family had a prior claim to a permanent home, so the parents reached out to SRC to find this adorable little boy a Schnauzer home who understands that cats are simply not compatible with his environment.

Everything else about Bronco is great! He is housebroken, and loves to cuddle! He has no need to be crated although he is already trained to use one. He is playful which is quite average for a two – four year old. He enjoys being involved in the family activity and just wants to be included in whatever is going on in the household. He has shown some separation anxiety so it would be really wonderful if Bronco could be adopted by someone who is home most of the time or who works from their home. Since BRONCO gets along so well with other dogs it is expected that he will be unhappy without another canine in his family – male or female does not matter. Although the current people did not crate him this is something that has not be a matter of course for him but could be managed because he was crated earlier and did not complain unnecessarily. Not to say that he is not be crate-trained, just that this is something that he is not used to at this point. BRONCO is well behaved for a Schnauzer his age and knows the commands “sit” and “stay” by voice and hand signals. He is a very handsome salt and pepper gray canine with personality plus. His foster parents will be able to fill you in on more once you go thru the approval process. We at SRC just want him to have that loving home he deserves.

When ready for adoption this dog will be heart-worm and fecal tested (negative), de-wormed, vaccinations brought up to date, spayed/neutered if not done already, micro-chipped, examined fully by our SRC vet and any necessary medical issues found by our vet will be addressed. It is anticipated that this dog will be released for adoption by the same date as the completion of the Evaluation. If the date of release is to be different, that date will be posted also.

THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED IN MICRO, NC AND SOON WILL MOVE TO REIDSVILLE, NC SO YOU SHOULD BE WILLING TO DRIVE TO ONE OF THOSE LOCATIONS IN ORDER TO PICK THE DOG UP THERE WHEN HE IS ADOPTED.

Tax-deductible donation requested at time of adoption for this dog is $450.

PLEASE READ PRIOR TO APPLYING

When ready for adoption this canine will have been evaluated for two weeks by loving SRC foster parents who will now be able to give the adoptive parents information as to their opinion about the demeanor of the adoptive parent's new family companion prior to the finalizing of this adoption. SRC volunteers strive to do all of this for the well-being of their rescued canine and for a successful. It is our worthy mission to assure that each dog goes to a loving and stable home whose family members will treat each rescued dog that SRC helps as a beloved member of their immediate family.

SRC’s dogs are in foster homes throughout NC, SC, TN, VA and N. GA. You must be willing to drive to the dog's foster home in order to adopt it. The location of each dog is listed at the bottom of its bio.

BEFORE meeting an SRC dog, you must be approved to adopt. Our downloadable Adoption Application is on our web site at schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org and can be submitted via email or fax (1-910-401-1317). You can request an Adoption Application to email address: adoptions@schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org

Upon receipt of your application, a vet reference check and home visit will be done. We do not hold dogs, and we adopt them out on a first-come, first-serve basis based on a completed adoption process.

SRC does not ordinarily adopt its dogs to families with children under ten years of age.
