Brody

This handsome Border collie mix came from a high kill shelter in Lake City, Fl where he was an owner surrender. We think he is about 2-3 yrs old. He is a beautiful boy at 47 pounds, we do not think him purebred maybe mixed with some spaniel, but at 47 pounds he is a large solid boy!! At some point he was loved and cared for, we have given him a good grooming and he took it right in stride, handled the bath and ear and foot exam with calm composure! He is on very good food now, and we are just waiting for his beautiful curly coat to come back in. He knows some basic commands someone has put some training on him. Brody has been lame off and on since we got him, and he may have cruciate (knee) problems. He has an ortho exam scheduled for this coming weekend. He hops now and then, we have been very careful to keep him on lead for walks, limit his exercise until the ortho vet has seen him. He has a good appetite, and is very social with people. Good with other dogs, although his limited activity has kept him from full play. He loves to lay on the couch and watch TV with you. Brody will be a great companion dog, just waiting to go for walks with you and spend time with his favorite people. Okay in a crate, good riding in the car, is just an angel at the vets. We will be posting updates on Brody after his vet exam, as to what if anything we need to do for his knees, up to and including surgery, so he is not yet available for adoption yet.
