Britches's Story

Britches arrived at our shelter with his brother. He was shy and fearful to begin with, but he has steadily warmed up to the people in his world and now accepts and returns affection. He's making good progress with walking on a lead. His favorite thing seems to be playtime with other dogs who share his energy.<br/>Britches is a young adult and a slender 35 pounds. He is easy to lift (he doesn't mind at all being carried) and is compliant with what we ask him to do. This boy needs lots of one-on-one time with a kind human who is looking for a, trusting, loyal, active friend.<br/><br/>Thank you for considering Britches, and for supporting our small, rural animal shelter. Adopting save lives! Our dogs and cats are among the best you will find anywhere. <br/><br/>The Powell County Animal Shelter is at 121 Echo Hollow Road, Clay City, KY. Powell County Animal Shelter 's Adoption Policy
We have an application form that gives us information about potential adopters' homes and family situations. This helps us to determine if an animal will be safe in their new environment, and if the new owner would be willing and financially able to care for a new pet and to commit to keeping it for the span of its natural life. In addition to logistical and practical questions, we encourage potential owners to think about how they will live daily with a new pet, and to understand what a lifelong commitment to a pet means.
