Brioche is incredibly shy and introverted — the quiet observer in the room who takes her time deciding who is worthy of her trust.<br/><br/>But once you’re in? You’re in.<br/><br/>She bonds deeply to her favorite female person and will be a loyal, devoted companion for someone patient enough to let her bloom at her own pace. She isn’t a fan of men and prefers to keep a safe distance, and she’s looking for an adult-only home where life is calm, predictable, and gentle.<br/><br/>Brioche would be perfectly content as your one-and-only, but she could also live with a calm, confident dog who can quietly model “how to dog” — as long as they respect her space and don’t pester her to play. She does fine with other dogs, mostly keeps to herself, and will likely ignore a cat.<br/><br/>Because she startles easily and may bolt if frightened, Brioche will need a very secure environment — a solid fenced yard (no gaps, and she can clear a 38" barrier or baby gate!) or leash-only walks. A quiet home outside of busy neighborhoods or city life would help her feel safe and settled.<br/><br/>Brioche isn’t for everyone — and that’s okay. She’s for someone special. Someone patient. Someone gentle. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments.
