Briggs's Story

Meet Briggs
Beagle Mix | Male (Neutered) | 4–5 Years | ~30 lbs
Briggs is a sweet, lovable, easy-going boy who has been in foster care for about a month—and he’s quickly become a favorite. He’s the kind of dog who fits right in: happy to nap, thrilled to play ball, and always ready for a long walk or outdoor adventure.

Personality & Energy
Briggs loves a balanced life. He enjoys his downtime but truly shines when he’s had a good walk or play session. A tired Briggs is a happy Briggs! He’s affectionate, gentle, and very easy to love.
With Other Animals & People
-Dogs: LOVES other dogs and reads their cues beautifully
-Cats: Excellent—sleeps beside them, hangs out calmly, no chasing
-Kids: Not tested, but we expect he would do well
-Crate: Doesn’t need one and prefers not to use it

Training & Home Life
Briggs is almost fully house trained. He’s just starting to go to the door when he needs to go out and will need frequent bathroom breaks as he continues learning. He can be left alone for up to 4 hours.
On leash, he’s still a work in progress—he pulls, keeps his nose to the ground (classic hound!), and may bark at dogs he isn’t allowed to greet. Once he meets them, he’s totally fine. Some continued training will go a long way.

Medical
Briggs tested positive for Lyme disease. He is completing his medication and will need a follow-up veterinary appointment once treatment is done.

Ideal Home
An active, outdoorsy home that enjoys walking, trails, or hiking would be perfect. A fenced yard is required. He doesn’t need another dog but would be happy to have a canine buddy.
The Cute Stuff (Very Important)
-Obsessed with tennis balls
-Loves dog beds (especially sleeping beside his human at night)
-Does a little dance and spins when it’s supper time
-Typical hound bark when excited—but very quiet in the house

Adoption Fee Includes:
-Core vaccines
-Rabies vaccine (age dependent)
-4DX test for heartworm & tick-borne diseases (age dependent)
-Flea, tick & heartworm prevention
-Parasite treatment
-Dental surgery if recommended by veterinary partners
-A session with a positive-reinforcement trainer (optional)
-Ongoing support from the Myrtle team
-Microchip
-One month of Trupanion coverage

Adoption Fee:
• $850 — Adults (1–7 years), spayed/neutered

Apply here:
https://form.jotform.com/243494963032258
Briggs is ready for his forever adventure buddy—could that be you?
