When the rescue was contacted about an owner surrender, we did not expect what we were about to walk into. Brie was living with four other dogs in absolute filth. They were beaten and yelled at on a daily bases. They had never seen grass and had no real food or water available to them. Due to the previous owners actions, the dogs in the home would lash out at them in response to their kicks, yells, and swings at them. This chaotic home was causing immense stress in the dogs, they shook all over with fear. They were covered in filth, their nails were long and tangled into each other, and they were losing fur. Though removing these guys from the home was a big task, they immediately showed us how happy they were to be free and they all gravitated towards human affection. Seeing grass for the first time was like Christmas morning! They ran and played until they wore themselves out! Brie likes to play with other dogs but loves a lap or a bed more than anything. She loves to be carried around and seriously….your lap will never be empty. Brie still trembles from time to time when things get loud but we are so proud of how far she has come!
