Brandy's Story
Brandy is a pretty, full figured, will turn 5 years old on Christmas, brindle, female Scottish Terrier. She was retired from a puppymill and came to us about a month ago. She’s done remarkably well in her wonderful foster home, is very affectionate to her foster mom and friendly to the other male and female Scotties there. She’s picked up really well on housetraining and is very smart. Although she’s never had the freedom before, she runs around every inch of the large fenced yard in her foster home, is very clean in the house, is curious to explore and learn new things. The only more difficult thing is that she’s scared of men at this point. At puppymills, often men mistreat or scare them so they need time to trust and accept that all men aren’t going to be like that. She’d probably be best in an all female home or with gentle men who will be patient and kind, and won’t be insulted if she takes time to come around.
She’s a pretty girl with a thick, lovely, brindle coat and looking better all the time. She’s recently been spayed had a dental, has been vaccinated, bloodwork is great, heartworm/lyme tested negative, intestinal parasite tested negative. She’s a strong, healthy girl. She’ll be better groomed as her shaved hair grows in a bit more.
Brandy is a great Scottie, gentle natured and friendly, loyal, happy and loving. She’s showed her adaptability and done very well emotionally considering what she’s probably been through. She’s very appreciative of anything you do for her. Her whole demeanor is very appealing. Once she gets to know you, she’s a loving and loyal companion. Brandy’s foster mom, seeing how curious and interested in learning new things she is, has been taking her to agility classes and she’s doing very well. She’s someone who would be happy doing sports or other interesting activities, so someone who would continue this with her would definitely be a plus.
If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Erica Cerny at ecerny@optonline.net or 973-361-6790. Brandy’s foster location is PA.
