Brady's Story
Meet Brady! Little sprite Brady moves through the world like a very small, very serious butler who has sworn a personal oath to keep track of his human.

Brady’s life changed when his mom’s dementia progressed and he suddenly found himself in a new house with new people. At first he was unsure, but once he realized meals were predictable, hands were gentle, and no one expected him to be anything other than himself, he settled in and let his personality blossom.

If you get up, Brady also needs to get up. If you wander into another room, Brady follows ~ fluffy and businesslike. If you disappear upstairs, Brady will climb the steps to investigate, conducting a quiet wellness check to confirm that his person has not vanished into the abyss known as the attic.

He believes in order, routine, and that someone who can tell time should absolutely remind you when it is time to eat. Brady will do this work politely at first, then with the quiet determination of a small creature who has appointed himself Head of Household Scheduling.

Brady loves slow approaches, long massages, and thoughtful head scratches. He prefers calm connection over chaos. He isn’t a fan of abrupt handling and is a bit sensitive about his back and hind legs, but he communicates clearly and does beautifully with humans who listen.

Brady is housetrained, but will also use pee pads, rides well in the car, and can stay home alone without anxiety. He gets along nicely with other dogs, ignores the cat entirely, and prefers a peaceful environment where life is predictable and kind. Older, respectful children are perfectly fine ~ Brady simply appreciates a gentle approach.

Brady is looking for a soft landing after losing his lifelong home through no fault of his own. He just wants a calm house, a steady routine, and one person to quietly attach himself to again.

His favorite activities are calm walks, sniffing around the yard, and spending quiet time near his people. He’s housetrained, will also use pee pads, rides well in the car, and can stay home alone without anxiety. He gets along well with other dogs, ignores the cat, and prefers a peaceful, consistent environment over chaos (fenced-in yard a plus!). Older, respectful children are fine; unpredictable handling is not his style.

Medically, Brady takes medication for a heart murmur and eats a prescription diet to support his liver. His murmur will need monitoring, and he’ll need a dental in the future once he’s cleared for anesthesia. Otherwise, he is happily busy managing his most important job ~ being someone’s devoted little shadow.

If you’ve ever wanted a polite assistant who follows you everywhere and takes meal scheduling extremely seriously, Brady may be ready to start work immediately.

Brady is approximately 13 years old and 10 lbs.

Fostered in Baltimore, MD
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
