Bowie's Story
Meet Bowie – Part Dog, Part Shadow, Full-Time Goofball?

Bowie is a 3–4 year old, 80 pound Shepherd Mix with the energy of a toddler hopped up on birthday cake and the emotional attachment of a rom-com lead. He’s basically your clingy best friend who wants to go everywhere with you. If you leave him behind, well, good luck keeping your doors, crates, and dignity intact. Yes, he can Houdini out of a zip-tied crate. Yes, he will do it again! Bowie LOVES fetch like it’s his full-time job, complete with overtime and zero pay. He also enjoys long walks, splashing in any body of water (including water buckets), and enthusiastically chomping on tough chew toys. Soft toys? Slippers? Socks? Those are snacks, thank you very much. Please don’t leave them unattended unless you want a one-dog fabric recycling program. He’s the kind of dog who will romp joyfully with his canine foster brother, then dramatically flop on the ground for belly rubs. Bowie is food motivated, which makes training a breeze (as long as you have treats—no treats, no deal). He’s surprisingly tolerant of baths, brushing, and nail trims, especially for a guy who acts like he’s never been loved enough every time you walk out of the room. Vet visits make him a little nervous, but he handles it like a champ with some calming support and kind words. He’s house trained on a schedule. He’s more comfortable with women and kids than men, and he’s still learning to trust new people. But once you’re in, you’re in for life. He’d do best in a home with another confident dog who can show him the ropes, a securely fenced yard and humans who love exercise, adventure, and a little bit of lovable chaos. Bowie’s perfect match is someone patient, active, and willing to laugh through the slipper thefts, water bucket parties, and dramatic crate escapes. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, laughs, and endless affection.

So if you’re ready for a dog who’s equal parts athlete, comedian, and professional cuddle shadow—Bowie might just be your guy!

#DoggoneHappyAnimalRescue
