Boudreaux's Story

Boudreaux will bowl you over, in every sense! He's handsome, he's energetic, and he's the sweetest. If you want to wake up every day to a massive bundle of unbridled joy, this is your guy. He'd love to accompany you up a mountain, or for binge-watching your favorite series on the couch (he'll be right next to you or with his head in your lap). He'll sleep at your feet and then, when he senses you stirring in the morning, he'll start thump-wagging his tail and come up to greet you.

Boudreaux is recommended for homes with kids over 12, or younger children who have demonstrated comfort with large dogs. Outside the home, he does well with other dogs, but he needs to be the only dog in his family.

Until living in his foster home, he was surrounded by other dogs and people in a loud shelter, and so he's taken some time to get comfortable in a home by himself while his foster mom is gone for a couple hours at a time. While he has settled into that nicely in a matter of weeks, he may need a week or two in his new home to work up his courage while he comes to understand that he's safe. Owners who work from home or can come home at lunch would be ideal for him. For the same reasons, he's still working on feeling safe in a crate – viewing it as a retreat rather than a cage. He has bravely accepted treats from inside an open-door crate.

In other words, he's an incredibly social guy, who never met a stranger. He loves to “talk” to you in a low voice, letting you know all the time how much he loves you (and how much he'd like a snack).

Please visit www.KarlsCanineKrew.org to apply to adopt.
We do not accept 3rd party applications
