He is a medium energy guy.<br/><br/>This big handsome boy is the whole package! He is kind and gentle (though still puppy rambunctious when it’s time to play) intelligent and happy to learn. He’s also a world class cuddler! <br/><br/>We think he is a Black Mouth Cur mix (a popular breed in the southern US) which makes him a good livestock guardian dog, faithful to family, a herder and a great companion. The dog from the movie Old Yeller was a Cur! This breed is known to live healthy lives of 12-16 years. There might be a bit of Akita in there too. <br/><br/>Bosco loves car rides, any water activity (including the shower) his basketballs, toys in general, and running! He’s good on leash, and is being socialized with other big dogs. <br/>We think he would really benefit from having another large dog to roughhouse and buddy around. He needs a confident EXPERIENCED family, who practices a calm positive training style. He’s sensitive, and responds well to kind but firm guidance. He’s still learning every day!<br/><br/>Bosco recently went on a field trip to a mini farm, and was very cool and non agressive around ducks, peacocks, sheep, a pig, and even got a kiss from a horse! He was very very good with the 3 children that enjoyed petting and walking him. <br/><br/>Bosco is still a puppy, and can be mouthy, but does not bite down. He sometimes takes things that he shouldn’t, but will swap for something safe. He drops his throw toys at your feet.<br/><br/>Cats are an unknown, and should be introduced with caution. <br/><br/>Bosco was born November 2024 in Alabama. At 2 months, he was adopted and began an adventure with his man all the way to California. Once they arrived, when Bosco was 7 months old, the man realized this beautiful puppy, now 60 lbs, needed a home and yard. A very nice woman decided to foster him and get him his shots and neutered before finding him a permanent home. He is residing with her in Nevada City, Ca.<br/>We hope to find him a home within 60 miles of here. <br/><br/>Big boy Bosco is waiting for you to claim him!
