BOSCO-ARKANSAS's Story

**DOODLE PUPPIES AVAILABLE for ADOPTION and ready to go home at 8 weeks around 9/22/26.*

Bosco and Rosie are young puppies who were found as strays with their mom. They are available for adoption and are in an amazing IDOG foster home in Magnolia, Arkansas.

You can use one application for either of the 2 puppies we have listed. Just put the names of the puppies in the order for which you’d like to be considered for them.

-Bosco – male, black & white coat, 5# at 5 weeks old
-Rosie – female, cream coat, 5# at 5 weeks old

*If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of the puppies, please complete our adoption application at http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application (copy/paste URL into your browser).

*If you completed an adoption application in the last 6 months & would like for your application to be considered for a puppy, please email that to us to rescue@idogdoodlerescue.org.

*You must complete our adoption application fully. We will review your application & email you if you made our short list of applicants for a puppy. Please respond within 24 hours if you receive an email from us about making our short list.

*You can check the status of their adoption at www.doodles.petfinder.com or any of our social media pages. We will change their status to adopted when they are all adopted.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt a puppy before we will schedule a meet and greet. We know of a great transport company that you could use if you are interested in transporting a puppy to you. The adopter would need to cover the cost of transport.

*AGE:
Rosie and Bosco were born around 7/22/26; they will be ready to go to their adoptive homes around 8 weeks of age which is 9/22/26.

*WEIGHT:
*They weigh around 5 lbs at 5 weeks of age and are still growing. We have no idea what their adult size will be as they were found as strays. We know their mother is a Doodle who weighs 30 lbs. We don’t know who the puppy dad is.

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence is recommended. No electronic fences will be allowed. The puppies would be most successful in a fenced yard; they should be monitored at all times because they are typical puppies and get into everything!

*COAT TYPE: wavy hair. We don't know what their adult coat will be like; it may shed some - we just can't say. The puppy will need to be groomed regularly and brushed routinely. The new family should be prepared to have them groomed regularly depending upon their coat.

*ENERGY LEVEL: High puppy energy. They would do best with at least 2 good walks a day and lots of running around. They will need their puppy energy expended through physical & mental exercise. They love to play, love to run and to explore!

*DOGS: Yes. They are great with other dogs in their foster home.

*CATS: Unknown; no exposure to cats in their foster homes. We think they will be fine with cats as they are so young.

*KIDS: They have not been exposed to children in their foster homes although we think they will likely be great with kids.

*CAR: They have been transported in the car in a crate and did ok.

*CRATE: They are kept in a playpen together throughout the day and night and use pee pads to potty. They are starting to learn to go outside to potty.

*HOUSE TRAINED: They will need work with house-training. They are learning how to potty outside. They are eating 4 times a day right now while they are still growing.

*LEASH: They will need to learn how to walk on leash when they are old enough. They aren’t fully vaccinated so can’t go on walks until after all of their puppy vaccines.

These adorable puppies were found as strays with their mom. They forgot their birth certificates so we aren’t sure who their dad was or what their adult size will be. We think they are some type of Doodle as we had their mom and she looks like a Doodle. We think they may be smaller to medium sized dogs; their mom weighs 30 lbs.

Here is what the puppies’ foster mom has to say about them:

The puppies are super sweet and need a home with a patient family who is willing to train a puppy. They are cuddly, loving, smart, inquisitive, food driven, and playful. They would love a home with a secured fenced-in yard so they can practice zoomies and explore.

Adjectives that describe them:
-Playful
-Snuggly
-Affectionate
-Curious
-Energetic
-Smart
-Loving

Due to the intense needs of puppies, we will require adopters to be experienced dog owners with someone home during the day, so the puppy is provided with human interaction while continuing to work on training and socialization. We are looking for adopters who understand the training, exercise & socialization needs of puppies.

They are are current on DAPP and Bordetella. They have received dewormer, are current on heartworm/flea tick preventives and are microchipped. They are too young for Rabies and should get that around 16 weeks of age.

The puppies are too young to be spayed. IDOG will hold a $200 spay deposit. The adopter will be required under contract to spay puppy by 12 months of age. You will need to send the vet receipt to IDOG and we will then refund the deposit. If you fail to get the puppy spayed by 12 months of age per the adoption contract terms, you will be required to return the puppy back to IDOG Rescue.

ADOPTION FEE: $450 adoption fee + $200 refundable spay deposit to be refunded upon proof of spay by 12 months of age.

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies and highly adoptable dogs such as our puppies have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are very high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR BOSCO or ROSIE-ARKANSAS, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application

IDOG Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
BEFORE YOU APPLY Please consider all aspects before applying to adopt a dog. Rescue dogs usually come with a few issues and we prefer applicants that have realistic expectations and dog experience. We prefer a physical fence in most cases but will consider this on a case by case basis. Please read through all the information on our website before completing the application. To adopt one of our dogs you MUST first complete our online application. We do require an interview. In addition, a home visit will be required. We only adopt dogs to families who will keep them as inside pets. If you are not willing to work with your new rescue dog and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of our dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog. Rescuing a dog is a lifetime commitment and if you give your all, you will get a great friend in return. They need time and patience. WHO WE ARE IDOG Rescue is a national U.S. foster-based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization and has remained in good standing with the IRS since 2006 when IDOG was created. IDOG has been offering rescue and rehome services to Doodles, Standard Poodles and Poodle mixes since 2006. We have helped over 3,700 Doodles and Poodles to date. IDOG Rescue was the first specific rescue for Labradoodles and Goldendoodles and is endorsed by both the Australian Labradoodle Association of America and the Goldendoodle Association of America. IDOG is an approved Rescue Partner in shelters across the country and has an outstanding reputation for helping Doodles in need, no matter what color, age or health status. LOCATION OF DOGS IDOG has dogs in foster homes all over the U.S. Please see the location listed in the dog's name (for example, Toby-TX is located in a foster home in TX). In most instances, you will be required to live within driving distance of where the dog is located and to visit the dog in person. IDOG does not ship or transport dogs unless this option is stated in the listing. Shipping is stressful on the dog, and stressful for the volunteer who has to spend many hours preparing the dog and the paperwork, transporting and waiting at airports. It is not simply a matter of paying the shipping charge. We will only ship a dog if we cannot find it a home near where it is being fostered. ADOPTION FEES All of our IDOGs have an adoption fee that is non-negotiable and non-refundable. OUR ADOPTION FEES RANGE FROM $100 - $750 depending on the dog. We will require the adoption fee be paid prior to or when we transfer the IDOG to its new family. The adoption fee helps IDOG with the expenses related to the care of all of the dogs in our program and is not directly tied to the expenses incurred for that particular dog. Adoption fees allow IDOG to continue doing our life-saving work as we are 100% dependent upon adoption fees and donations to cover the costs of the dogs in our care. Each dog is assessed individually to determine the adoption fee. It currently costs IDOG an average of over $400 for basic vet, grooming, and foster care on each dog; that does not allow for the ones who get sick, need surgery, have special needs, or are heartworm positive. Adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, core vaccines, fecal test/dewormer, heartworm testing, heartworm/flea/tick prevention and microchipping. All IDOGS are evaluated by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. HOW TO APPLY To apply for any of our dogs, please complete the application on our website: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application REHOMING ASSISTANCE - FOR FAMILIES WHO NEED TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOODLE/POODLE IDOG Rescue also provides assistance and support for people who need to find a new home for their family pet - our motivation is to get these dogs into homes that understand the temperaments and needs of these energetic, playful & loving dogs.
