Boots-ME's Story

UPDATE 01/20/07: Boots is doing well with training in his foster home. He has learned to sit, stay, come and is working on down. He does get excited when visitors come over and tends to jump up a bit. His foster dad is working on that, though! Boots continues to play well with the other male GSP that he is living with. They love, love to chase each other around the yard. We honestly cannot understand why this amazing dog is still up for adoption! Update 12/20/06 Boots is doing well in his foster home. His foster dad would love to see him go to a family where he could have a young GSP playmate as he loves to run, wrestle and snuggle with the male GSP in his foster home. He is working on obedience and wants nothing more than to have human attention. Hi Meet Boots!! He is an owner surrender who is now in our foster care program. He is aptly named for his liver coat with white feet. His dad had begun to work extremely long hours and could not give him the attention he deserved. Boots in an average sized male GSP weighing 62 lbs. He is healthy and UTD on vaccinations and has recently been neutered. Note, his tail is not docked. Boots is a young male who will turn 2 years old this coming February.<br/>He is good with other dogs and fair with cats as he will give chase. He rides very well in the car and is crate trained. He does not appear to have any food aggression at all, with people or other dogs. Boots is your typical young Rescue GSP who needs obedience training, especially on lead. Training classes would be an excellent investment to make. Boots enjoys taking a bath, so most likely will love to swim. He has a sound temperment as he is not a nervous or timid dog and does not appear to have been abused in any way. He is very people centered and loves human attention. He is good with children, but we recommend children over 7 years old due to the fact that he may knock toddlers over with all his GSP exuberance! If you are looking to invest some time and energy into training and exercising a new companion, then we are certain Boots will return any investment you make in him ten fold.
