Boots's Story

Meet Boots! This thoughtful, observant guy loves taking in the world around him and has a special spark that comes alive during playtime. Outside of his kennel, Boots shows his playful side with frisbees, tug-of-war, and fetch, and he has a hilarious habit of shaking and muzzle-punching his toys. He's a smart boy who knows a variety of cues including sit, stay, come, lay down, and heel. Boots also enjoys 1:1 attention, snuggling up for pets, and even rolling over for belly rubs.

Boots does best in a calm, patient home where he can take his time observing new people and situations. He loves his walks, off-leash play, and toys. With his sweet personality, playful energy, and loyal heart, Boots is ready to find a home where he can both relax and have fun.

Nashville Humane Association's Adoption Policy
The adoption process at NHA is friendly, educational and rewarding! Animals come to us looking for a forever home, and we make certain to give them their best shot. All animals in our Adoption Program, while at NHA, receive spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and veterinary treatment. And of course, lots of love! Now, it's your turn to love them forever. Noticing that we use the word "forever" a lot? Well, it is really important to us that our pets find a permanent home! Therefore, adoption applicants are carefully screened and must meet adoption requirements prior to taking your new furry friend home. Adoption Requirements: •Be 18 years of age or older •A picture I.D. showing your present address •The knowledge and consent of your landlord (if applicable) •Ability to spend time/money necessary to provide training, medical treatment, and proper care for a pet. IMPORTANT: The Nashville Humane Association reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone. No animal will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the application. Now here comes the hard part. Visit with our wonderful cats and dogs and try to pick just one! NHA Pet Service Representatives are available to provide advice on selecting the best match for you and will schedule a Meet & Greet between family members (including those with four-legs) and your prospective pet to help you determine which animal will best accept your lifestyle. The next step is to fill out an Adoption Application. After the staff reviews and approves your application, it's on to a visit and then signing the adoption contract, paying the fee, and taking your new lucky cat or dog home!
