Boone's Story

Meet Boone!

Looking for a dog who truly understands the art of living well? Boone is your guy! He's a senior sweetheart who's all about comfort, calm, and connection. This easygoing gentleman lives for the simple things: cozy couches, soft beds, slow strolls, endless snuggles, and of course, a steady supply of treats. Seriously, don't forget the treats!

Boone is so easygoing and well mannered that he quickly became the go to dog for new volunteers learning the ropes. He simply makes everyone feel at ease and leaves them wanting more! Of course, he's also a staff and volunteer favorite because who can resist that gentle nature and good boy charm?

Adding to his charm, Boone is potty trained and absolutely will not potty in his kennel. He will transition effortlessly into any home or routine. He also knows "sit" and often offers it on his own, especially when food or treats are involved.

Boone walks great on the leash and enjoys taking his time on walks. However, if he sees a cat, he will pull toward it as he simply doesn't like them. Fortunately, he's easy to redirect and settles back into his walk quickly. That said, Boone should not live in a home with cats, whether they're indoors or outdoors.

Since Boone is all about peaceful naps and quiet companionship, he prefers not to hang out with other dogs. He can coexist with calm ones who give him space, but he'd be happiest as the only pet. When it comes to people, though, he's all in! Boone loves everyone he meets, including kids, and knows exactly how to bat those soulful eyes to win you over. Give him a few pets and a good butt scratch, and you've got a new best friend!

Boone also enjoys spending time in the yard, where he takes care of business, patrols the perimeter, sunbathes, and rolls around in the dirt with pure joy. Rolling is his favorite pastime, and he never misses a chance to get in a good, dusty wiggle! Every now and then, his playful side comes out in a few cheerful hops or a quick game of fetch before he settles back down to relax.

If your dream dog is a mellow companion with the wisdom of age, the loyalty of a best friend, and the charm of a seasoned couch snuggler, Boone is ready to fill that space in your heart. He is a low maintenance, high reward companion who's ready to bring calm, love, and just the right amount of dirt rolling joy to his forever home!
