Boomer's Story
Meet Boomer. This handsome bully boy

showed up on a family’s doorstep one winter evening, alone, with no collar, an injured ear, and clearly in need of care. The kind family took him in and brought him to the vet the next morning to check for a microchip and treat his ear. Despite their efforts to find his owner, no one came forward.

The family has been fostering him for the past few months, and he has proven himself to be a resilient, sweet, and loyal companion, as well as a good friend to their family dog. Introductions were done slowly, and the two pups have become friends, enjoying walks and downtime together.

Boomer is a strong, confident, and affectionate boy whose sweet personality has emerged as he’s settled into home life. He loves head and belly rubs, enjoys curling up on blankets or pillows, and is happy to relax near his people after a walk. While he may look like a bit of a tank at first glance, his foster family quickly discovered what a gentle and loving boy he truly is.

He has great house manners and is fully potty trained. Boomer is comfortable with a crate, often choosing to rest there on his own. He has earned free roam privileges in his foster home and sleeps well through the night. He’s also a quiet dog who rarely barks, though you may hear his signature snore when he’s fully relaxed.

Boomer enjoys his daily walks and does best with regular exercise. A trainer has worked with him on leash skills, and he has made good progress, though he can still pull at times and will benefit from continued training and structure. He’s a strong boy, so a confident handler will help him continue to improve.

Overall, he’s a social pup who is friendly and interested in people, greeting visitors with enthusiasm. He can get excited and may jump up, but he responds well to redirection. He has not shown much interest in toys yet, and play is still a work in progress, but he clearly enjoys being active and engaged.

Boomer has come a long way from the night he appeared looking for help. He’s now healthy, neutered, microchipped, and ready for a fresh start. This handsome boy is looking for a home that will provide structure, patience, and love, and in return, he’ll be a devoted companion.

LOOKING FOR FOSTER OR ADOPTER to bring Boomer to town.

Apply today!

BREED ESTIMATE: Bulldog/Bully Mix
GENDER: Male
APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 54 lbs
APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 2 years old
COAT TYPE: short coat
ADOPTION FEE: $425
VET INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC

FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application.

You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted.
