Bolt's Story

💔 Bolt: 21 Days Away from One Year in a Cage 💔

Bolt is almost 7 years old, and he is the kind of dog people dream of bringing home. He loves everyone he meets--kids, adults, strangers who quickly become friends. He adores other dogs, too, and has even shared a home with both children and pups in the past. He is gentle, loyal, and walks beautifully on a leash. When we take him out to events, he is always the dog we choose because he represents the very best of us.

And yet... somehow, he is still here.

Bolt has spent nearly a year--almost 365 days--watching people walk past his kennel without choosing him. His soft, hopeful eyes have grown unbearably sad, and every day that passes seems to dim his light just a little more. He doesn't understand why no one wants him. We don't understand either. He is perfect, and still, he waits.

Bolt has become a staff and volunteer favorite. We love him with all our hearts, but what he needs isn't another walk from us or another weekend at an adoption event. What he needs--what he aches for--is a family to finally see him, to finally choose him, to finally take him home.

He is only 21 days away from hitting a devastating milestone: one full year of his life lost to a kennel. Please don't let him cross that line. Please don't let his story be another tragedy of a wonderful dog who was overlooked for no reason at all.

Bolt deserves to be more than the dog with the world's saddest eyes. He deserves to be yours.More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org
