Bojangles's Story
Here comes Bojangles!

Bo is a gorgeous 2-year-old black Lab mix. He weighs about 57 pounds. Bo is crate trained but if his family is home, he would prefer to be with them and not in his crate. He is comfortable in his crate at night.

Bo is great with both male and female dogs. He is even great with cats! Bo is working hard on his leash skills and has even done a little work with a trainer. He will benefit from continued training to work on his leash skills and learning not to jump up to greet people.

Bojangles loves being petted and will sit on the couch with you and relax until you move. He is a Velcro boy and will quickly attach to his family. Bo is a little leery of strangers and may bark when someone comes into the house. But, once he has met you and you’ve spent a little time in his space, he is very friendly.

Although his current foster hasn’t seen this, his first family said he really didn’t like his back end touched. It seems to be his only quirk, but it matters to him so it’s something to know and be respectful of.

Bo does have a higher energy level and will do best in an active home with no young children. He would be better suited to teenagers or older. He would love a fenced yard to run around in but that isn’t a deal breaker. Bo has thoroughly enjoyed going to the dog park with his foster and has loved all of the dogs he has met. Because he seems to really enjoy other dogs, a friendly resident dog would be a plus.

While we never know what these dogs have been through before they came to rescue, we stay committed to trying to find the very best place for them to land!

If you are interested in Bojangles and are an approved adopter, please contact your Adoption Coordinator to be added to Bojangle’s list. If you are a not yet approved, you can find our adoption guidelines and application at: www.savealabrescue.org

Bojangles will be fostered in RI; currently fostered in Maine until December 10, 2025
