Bodhi's Story

Bodhi is a 1½-year-old Chocolate Lab mix with a heart as big as his energy. Smart, affectionate, and eager to please, Bodhi loves walks, runs, and especially swimming. He’s completed several weeks of professional training, so he’s both well-mannered and a quick learner — the perfect mix of fun and focus. At 65lbs, Bodhi is as big as he will ever get!

Bodhi would thrive in an active home that understands the importance of structure and boundaries. He’s partially blind from an old injury, but you’d never know it watching him explore — he’s confident, curious, and adaptable. His vision loss doesn’t require any ongoing medical care, and it certainly doesn’t slow him down.

Bodhi was deeply loved in his first home, but the environment wasn’t quite right for him — there was a quick moving toddler in the home, which caused stress for a dog who can’t always see sudden movements coming. While he was never aggressive beyond standard dog communication when his space was invaded, it was clear that he’d be happier in a more predictable setting.

He’ll do best with an adult or couple, or a family with older children (probably 10+), who enjoys the outdoors and is looking for a loyal adventure companion.

Bodhi is dreaming of the loving, stable home he deserves — he’s ready to share his big heart and boundless spirit with the right family.
